If you are visiting Balikpapan, and would like to test your bravery to deal with height, come across Bangkirai!  1 Hour by car from Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, Bangkirai offers visitors with its tropical rain forest track which will eventually led us to the “Canopy bridge”, connecting 3 old wooden trees at 30 m above the ground. The view of the surrounding is very calming and the wind breeze are just awesome. Though fear may come while u are crossing this bridge, the excellent nature beauty of the rain tropical forest as well as the warming sun rays just make it a very nice experience.

I had recently finished reading “Like the Flowing River”, a collection of life’s reflection and thought from Paulo Coelho. Perhaps, some of us knew Paulo is the author behind some of the best sellers novels such as “The Alchemist”, “Brida”, and other numerous titles.

This work presents the story of Ghengis Khan and the Falcon that teaches about the danger of anger, as well as the beauty of a friendship. He also told a story about Manuel, an ordinary man who had spent his whole life busy working..  Which taught us that a work can be a blessing if it help us to think about the meaning of life, but in the other hand, it can also become a curse when its solely use is to keep us busy to truly understand the purpose of life.

I was stumbling over some of the pics that i have took last year and i came across one particular album : Kingdom animalia.  I took this pictures in a pet-market located in Jakarta. It was not a fancy pet shop, but rather a big domestic market where you can find a many types of birds, hamster, rabbits and often… snakes. However, there are also other picture that were taken from the crocodile farms in Balikpapan.  I was really enjoy watching those pics and i want to share it with you all, my friends 🙂

As a field engineer in oil and gas industry, we often need to hop on and off from one rig to another to log.  From offshore sea to the remote area in the middle of rain forest to the swamp.  Living no longer become a daily habit, but rather..  a continuous adventure as we are facing surprises by surprises on finding the next assignment, new challenges as well as the rush and pressure on ensuring all the job preparation as well as the job operation itself delivered with a perfection.  Albeit all difficulties, shortages of backup equipment or even number of people/talent needed to perform the job.

So, i will made a confession here.. Despite my age that must have been categorized as an adult, i wouldn’t deny that i still enjoy reading comics (Detective Conan, Kindaichi, Kung Fu Boy, and Legend of the Dragon would be on my top-list-to-read). And now.. i had found another morning glory for me.. in the name of Greg Heffley. The major character for “Diary of a Wimpy Kid” by Jeff Kinney.

Diary of a wimpy kid brought us to the thoughts and actions of 6th grader, Greg, which all written in a journal (Journal, not a diary. Coz diary is only for girls. ) Greg is a middle-schooler who happened to be a bit egoist, lazy (ok.. maybe very lazy), and wimpy.  He has a sidekick, named Rowley, and together, they had brought us to the dramatic lives of a middle-school, try to survive from the bullies, maths, and climb to the popularity. He is a bit of a loser, but a very likable character. Portrayed in an illustrated novel, the Diary of a Wimpy Kid is a hilarious book that was really hard to be put down.  Though i must admit, he wasnt a good role model :p

To give u some example, here it goes :

Anyway.. this book is funny and i hope u will enjoy it too as much as i did 🙂

The Tourist told a story of Elise (Angelina Jolie) who sits next to an American tourist, Frank (a mathematician teacher, played by Johnny Depp), on a train going to Venice.  She has chosen him as a decoy, making believe that he is her lover who is wanted for police. So, this had caused both Elise and Frank not only to try to evade the police, but also the mobster who wanted him dead as he had stolen his money.
